Have a gumbo limbo(20'- 25')at a customers home in Sarasota. Last winter had a freeze. The tree today still has no leaves. Scratch the bark anywhere and you will find dark green still living. It has 3-4 times started to grow out little new growth leaves but never continues, stays bare. Now found saw dust around base. Just treated that yesterday. Figure this from the tree being under stress. What should be done at this point for this tree ?

Thanks

That dust is the feeding excrement of borers (frass). I hate to say it but from your description it sounds like this tree is on its way out Crying or Very sad .The good news is that a replacement Gumbo Limbo will grow quickly for you Very Happy
